During the special regime in Nizhnekamskneftekhim PJSC, the production program for the output of items is carried out according to the approved schedule. This was told by Mr. Oleg Nesterov, Deputy General Director - Production Director of PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim. He noted that in the current severe conditions, Nizhnekamskneftekhim continues to produce petrochemical products of critical importance for the country. The Company's management keeps abreast and makes adjustments to the organization of the production process in accordance with the emerging changes related to the situation of the isolation regime in Tatarstan and in the whole of the Russian Federation.
The Company introduces additional actions aimed at reducing staff contacts with employees of contracting organizations. For this purpose, a separate entrance hall was opened for contracting companies staff at the enterprise and a separate delivery by bus to work place was organized. For the movement of enterprise workers in the territory of the first and second industrial zones, the number of shuttle buses was increased. The work schedule of the canteens has also been adjusted to minimize crowds.
Employees of Nizhnekamskneftekhim, who are engaged in continuous production, were provided with certificates from the employer, allowing them to move freely to and from work place.
And, at present, shift reception and delivery in the workshops of the plants are carried out under remote control. The shift work schedule has not changed, but options are also being considered in the event of a worsening epidemiological situation. The issue of introducing a three-shift work schedule instead of the current four is being considered. At the same time, the main task remains to ensure a safe continuous process cycle for the production of high-quality products.
Mr. Airat Safin, General Director of PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim, took part in a meeting with the leaders of Nizhnekamsk industrial enterprises, chaired by Mr. Aidar Metshin, the Head of Nizhnekamsk Municipal District. The meeting was held the day before, in online mode of communication.
At the meeting, actions were discussed for preventing the spread of coronavirus infection at the industrial enterprises of the city. Airat Safin, the head of Nizhnekamskneftekhim, spoke in detail about the events held at the Company.
First of all, he noted that with the introduction of a special regime, the Company, as an enterprise of a continuous cycle, proceeded with operation as usual. However, given the seriousness of the situation, it was decided to move the maximum possible number of employees to a remote mode of work, outside office.
Airat Safin said that all employees were instructed and provided with appropriate memos, antiseptics and personal protective equipment, a step by step provision with medical masks is in progress. Also, volunteers from the College of Petrochemicals and Oil Refining are sewing medical masks. Material for these purposes is provided by the Polymatiz subsidiary. A schedule has been developed for the supply of non-contact thermometers, thermal imagers, wall-mounted dispensers, bactericidal recirculators. It is planned to purchase a mini-laboratory for express diagnostics of tests for Covid-19.
Shift buses, which deliver Company employees to the place of work and back, are also sanitized. In total, 134 buses run on 11 special routes daily. The number of buses offering scheduled service in the Company’s territory has also been increased.
A special regime also affected contractors engaged in maintenance and turnarounds. Like all checkpoints, this checkpoint is equipped with turnstiles. Disinfectants are also used here.
For the period of the special self-isolation regime announced in Tatarstan, the management of PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim together with the trade union organization are implementing measures to provide timely assistance to veterans of the Great Patriotic War and home front workers registered with the Council of Veterans of War and Labor of PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim.
Currently, initiative groups have been formed from among the representatives of the trade union committee of the enterprise, as well as volunteers-petrochemical staff. Within two days they provided food sets to 120 veterans, three of them being participants in the Great Patriotic War.
Veterans gladly accepted help from factory workers and expressed gratitude for consideration and care given.
Food packages prepared by the Nizhnekamskneftekhim catering department included socially significant food.
In March this year, the nitrogen-oxygen station (ACS), which is part of the oligomers and glycols plant of PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim, turned 35 years old. This industrial facility provides all divisions of the Company with technical gases: nitrogen, oxygen and dry air. The gas is required at the factories for conducting technological processes, and in the maintenance of equipment during the scheduled shutdown turnaround repair.
The need to commission the nitrogen-oxygen station back in 1985 was due to the demands of a new ethylene oxide plant. After the start of production No. 1 in 1980 to produce monoethylene glycol and diethylene glycol, production No. 3 for the production of ethyl cellosolve and ethyl carbitol was put into operation. Then the petrochemical staff started constuction of a surface-active substances plant, where it was planned to establish production No. 2.
The availability of its own nitrogen-oxygen station solved the problem of providing technical gases not only to the production of the ethylene oxide plant, but also to other divisions of Nizhnekamskneftekhim.
Factory workers pay great importance to the revamp of the nitrogen-oxygen station. So, in 2019, they replaced piping of one of the air separation units at the station, which made it possible to improve the maintenance of the process conditions. In addition, the pneumatic control system was replaced by a more modern computer system in this unit.
On March 25, Mr. Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan President, visited the subsidiary of PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim - JSC Polymatiz as part of a working visit to the Alabuga special economic zone. The Head of the Republic was accompanied by Airat Safin, General Director of Nizhnekamskneftekhim, Timur Shigabutdinov, Deputy General Director and Commercial Director, Boris Averyanov, the Deputy General Director for investments, corporate governance and property management, Radik Yarullin, the Director of Polymatiz.
Distinguished guests examined the polymer processing production lines of JSC Polimatiz. This subsidiary of PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim, which is part of TAIF Group, solves the important task set by the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan to process 30-50% of polymers in the Republic at small and medium-sized businesses. Since April 2007 subsidiary has been a resident of the SEZ "Alabuga". The official opening of JSC Polymatiz and the commissioning of equipment with a design capacity of 10,000 tons per year took place in July 2009. PJSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim is one of the suppliers of raw materials - propylene homopolymer for JSC Polimatiz.
The main products of the Company are polypropylene non-woven material, which is used for the making of medical face protecting masks. For an hour of work, Polymatiz can produce material for the manufacture of 500 thousand masks. If necessary, it can increase production by 10 times.
The Company is equipped with advanced machinery and technology. All products manufactured at JSC Polimatiz are certified and comply with the state sanitary and epidemiological rules and regulations. It finds its application in various industries: construction, agriculture, furniture and textile manufacturing, medicine, hygiene and many others. This includes disposable medical clothing, consumable cosmetic products for cosmetic and treatment salons, sterile medical kits and masks. All products are subjected to strict control at every step.
Due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic and increased demand for medical masks, the Company significantly increases the production of non-woven materials for medical and hygienic purposes, improving the quality characteristics of brands for medicine (microbial permeability and resistance to the spread of microorganisms, softness and physical and mechanical properties).
For the first time in January-February 2020, non-woven fabrics with improved quality characteristics for medical and hygienic purposes were produced.
Currently, JSC Polymatiz is considering a possibility of producing 110 to 120 medical masks per minute.
